SUMMARY:Kayaking Adventure Patagonia Chile - Feb 14 - 20\, 2027
DESCRIPTION:– Kayaking down Futaleufú flat water\, crossing the Yelcho Lake and down the Yelcho River to Chaitén– Pacific Ocean – Patagonia Chile– Trip Cost usd 950  (does not include air fairs) \nMore information & Reservations:Email: info@gradosur.clMobile & Whatsapp: +56 9 44070503 +56 9 93805359 \nGeneral Descripction: This Andes to The Ocean kayak trip navegates the old water route used by the locals to connect Angentina’s border with the town of Chaitén by the ocean before the road opened. It starts below the white water of the Futaleufu River\, enters the Yelcho Lake and ends in Chaitén viejo following the Yelcho River. Safety: Through the expedition\, there is boat with off-board engine for safety. It also carries extra gear\, food and items that might fit in your personal kayak. With good weather\, this kayak trip is fairly easy\, but with wind extra safety for the kayaks is always welcome. following on the closest road there will be a 4×4 and trailer with vhf radio contact as a back plan. Important is to know that though the trip takes part in remote areas\, there are locals and small boats that use the same waters.Route & Weather: Patagonia in summer bring nice warm weather (even hot days). However\, it is also possible that it might show usthe rainy and cold face as well in the same trip.Trip starts at Puerto ramirez\, the old port used back at the beginning of the 1900s. This is the area where big rapids end and flat waters of the river start. Though navegating the moving water is not challenging\, kayaking experience makes it a lot easier. The Futaleufu river opens into the big Yalcho Lake that offers amazing view with waterfalls\, glaciers and steep fjords. With good weather it is easy to navegate across and follow the itinerary. It is important to know that with wind it gets choppy  and phisically demanding. Sometimes\, we plan our departures early in the morning is we know (using weather reports) that the day will be windy just to avoid extra work and stay on schedule. If\, on the contrary\, there is no way around windy days\, we might even consider to simply stay at the same campground and wait for the right moment to resume the trip.Rain does not complicate the trip. It does make it a bit uncomfortable for those not used to the outdoors and rain. But good gear\, including a good tent and warm clothes make the big difference.  We bring big tent for meals and cooking and for the group to hang out.Where the Trip Starts: The trip starts in the small town of Futaleufu in patagonia\, 7 miles from the border with Argentina.  This means that people might have to arrive one day earlier that the trips date. For how to get there\, we can assist people with logistics and reservations for local transportation.Where the Trip Ends: The trip ends in the ocean town of Chaitén. We can help schedule a bus ride\, airplane ticket or trip on the ferry boat to Puerto Montt.Price and What is Included: The cost covers all local ground transportation\, lodging before and after the trip according to itinerary. It also includes guides\, kayaks and gear\, and of course all food during the trip. For safety reasons a kataraft with a offborad engine follows us (mother boat). Not Included: The cost of trip does not include air fares or local transportation in/out of Patagonia. \n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \nItinerary Day by Day: \nDay 01. Sunday14 February:Saturday is arrival Day. Participants must be in Futaleufu any time during Saturday. The idea is to have our firts dinner together and start the trip that night with a final check about the trip and gear. To help participants to get to Futaleufú\, we assist people as much as we can with local transport and connections. Option A: Bus fromPuerto Montt to Chaitén. The BIMODAL route. It takes a day to get to Chaitén. It is a great trip through the fjords. Then\, extra 4 hours to Futaleufú by local bus or charter van or our company vehicle.Opción B: A 45 minutes direct flight to Chaitén from Puerto Montt airfield La Paloma (a small 6 or 8 seater plane) Then again\, extra 4 hours to Futaleufú by local bus or charter van or our company vehicle.Option C: A bus through Argentina that takes about 8 hours including paperwork at border crossing. The bus leaves from Puerto Montt but people can schedule to board in Osorno. Note: we can help coordinate all these options since we know the schedules and have the contacts. \nDay 02. Monday 15:  The Trip Begins – Lower Section of Futaleufu River to Monita Island – Lago YelchoAfter breakfast\, we start getting ready for the trip. We double check personal gear and also gear that we provide people with. make sure that the fitting of kayaks is perfect and radder works. Check every piece of equipment and make sure everything is going to fit in the kayak – tent\, sleeping bag\, clothes\, extras\, water\, etc. At around 1pm we drive to the river with all gear. We prepare to get into our kayak with everything we need for the trip. Lunch by the river.By 4pm we start kayak trip. First stretch takes the group to a beautiful natural campground on the western side of Isla Monita in the Yelcho Lake. This is a beautiful stretch of the river. We only paddle for about 3 hours. A great and mellow way to start this trip.Night at campground. Dinner prepared by Grado Sur Exp. \nDay 03.  Tuesday 16: From Isla Monita to Puntilla Or Correntoso River Beach. Lake Yelcho is a stunning place. It is also a big challenge especially if there is wind and waves. If that is the case we need to start early. Breakfast at 6 or 7am and paddling at 9am. If weather is good we can relax and start later. But keep in mind that if weather is bad we might have to start even earlier that 9am. First we paddle from Monita Island to La Puntilla. We rest here for an hour or so and take the time for lunch. Later\, we get back in our kayaks and cross the section to Correntoso River beach\, one of the kost beautiful places in Patagonia. From this day on\, our ‘mother boat’ is very important to give paddlers assistance if needed or just be there to make people feel safer. Afternoon by the beach.Night at Campground.Dinner prepared by Grado Sur Exp. \n Day 04. Wednesday 17: From Correntoso River Beach to Puerto Cardenas – On to Campground by Yelcho RiverAfter breakfast\, we get ready for our day’s paddling. We need to be in the water with our kayak by 10am\, unless weather says otherwise. First stretch all the way to Puerto Cardenas\, about 3 hours paddling.Lunch at Puerto Cardenas. After lunch\, we need to understand that we go back into a river again and paddle following guides instructions.Lake Yelcho is great. There are two places where other rivers get into our mai river and that means some trees that we need to keep in mind as we paddle. Our campground for the day is just below the second river feeding the Yelcho. Afternoon at CampNight at CampDinner prepared by Grado Sur Exp. \nDay 05. Thursday 18. From Río Cardenas to Camp ground just below El Amarillo River.Río Cardenas is a great place to camp. We can relax in the afternoon and rest. The next stretch is river and we need to be careful with currents and logs sitting in the river that we need to navegate around\, so following the guide’s instructions and line is very important. Today we paddle for about 4 hours. Once we get to our campground we rest and enjoy the afternoon and what is our last day and night of the trip.Night at campground.Dinner prepared by Grado Sur Expediciones. \nDay 06. \nDay 07. Saturday 20:  Trip Back to Puerto Montt and ON Home.– Breakfast at hostal.– Trip back to Puerto Montt dependeing of the option to travel.– Connection back home. \nWhat to Bring in This Trip. It is hard to predict the weather for Patagonia\, but February has always offered windows of better weather. That is why we plan our trip mid February. However\, we need to come prepare for the worst. There expression ‘there is not bad weather\, but bad equiopment’ make stotal sense in this trip. Our experience has shown us that “Andes to the Pacific” kayak trip could a great adventure with great views and scenery and great sandy beaches. However\, it can turn into a big challenge with rain and wind. So it is key to come prepared for those two scenarios.– Wet Suit (provided by Grado Sur Exp)– Layers – upper and lower body – Wind-stopper or rain gear for paddling– Extra rain gear to wear during campground hours.– Water shoes soft sole to operate radder in kayaks.– Extra shoes to wear while camping. – Tent good for rain with extra floor cover – Sleeping bag & mattress– Dry Bags to keep everything dry. Though kayaks have acrgo compartments\, they are not 100% waterproof– Sun block\, hat and sun-glasses– Buff (wool hat) or similar in case of cold weather – If needed paddling hand warmers. a kind of paddling gloves that help keeping hands warm– Warm clothes to wear at night during camping hours– Mosquito repelant (Important)– Headlamp and extra batteries – Small personal bottle for shampoo\, soap– Toilter paper in plastic bag– Preferred Snacks  (Cereal bars\, dry fruits\, others)– Water bottle (suggested bottle with buit-in water purifyer)– Small fistAid kit and personal medications if needed. Anti-inflammatories (We cannot provwith anyn kind of medicine)– If you take medications and supply of that med for the trip \nMore info & Sign Up: info@gradosur.cl / pablo@gradosur.cl Mobile Oficina: +56 9 4407 0503Otros teléfonos de contacto:  +56 9 9380 5359

III. DAY BY DAY ITINERARY. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDAY 01:  Feb 2nd: Trip Starts in Río Bueno. Our advebture starts in the town of Río Bueno at 9am. We will pick up group at central Plaza – or any other place agreed before trip – and drive to Puerto Lapí\, where this adventure starts. The idea is to gather by the river by 9:30am and getting into the water by noon. If people want arrive on their own vehicles\, I would suggest to leave the vehicles in Río Bueno and use our shuttle to get to the river. We – Grado Sur Expediciones – will arrive the night before to the river – to the put in – to get everything organized.Once we are all at the put in – 9:30am – we will have about 1 hour and half to gear up\, load everything in the kayaks – single or doubles – with the idea to get in the water to start the trip by 11:30am. Once in the water\, group padles for about 3 hours to our first place for our first stop. Here we rest\, hydrate\, eat something and use the natural bathrooms in the openair. The river is flat\, no strong current or rapinds of any kind. There are not features that expose people to dangers\, but paddlers need to be focussed all the time and follow guides’ instructions if they indicate to do so. At about 3pm\, group resumes the paddling. We continue downstream at a leisurely pace. By 6:30pm we should cover the second part of our distance of the day\, to our camp-ground\, about 30 miles of river. Dinner at 7:30pmNight at Natural River CampNoche en Campamento. \n\n\n\nDAY 02: November 9th: From Our Campground in llancacura All the way to the Pacific Ocean. Breakfast at camp.At 10am we get ready to get back in the water and star our second day of paddling. Today’s goal is to make it all the way to the ocean – La Barra. This Bar – in English – is the place where the different currents from the river and the ocean build up a sandy wall that sometimes blocks the access to the ocean from the river. In the morning we paddle about 3 hours again before we stop to rest hydrate and eat our lunch. Again we can use natural bathroom\, leaving almost no trace that we were ever there. In the afternoon\, we paddle on for about 3 more hours. If everything goes well and our times match our schedule\, we should be arriving to the end of our triup by 7pm. That will give us more than enough time to set up our tents\, explore the area while guides work on snacks and dinner. Dinner at 7:30pmNight at Camp \n\n\n\nDAY 03: November 10th: Up-Stream to the Take Out and Pick-up Vehicles. Breakfast at camp.Today is a very especial day\, because we need to paddle upstream for about 10 miles to the closest river access to a road. There is no connection from any road to La Barra other than the river\, so vehicles cannot pick us up there. Group needs to paddle for about 2 hours to the fishfarm Los Patos\, where the only road meets the river. The current is not strong so it is not a hard task to do. We will have our motorized support boat if anybody needs help.To make our paddling easier\, kayaks stay close to the side of the river where current are event less strong. Once at the fishfarm Los Patos\, our support vehicles will be waiting. Our main suggestions is to completely empty the kayaks so as not tom forget anything inside them. Then start packing your staff. Here is where the adventure ends\, though we still have about 2 hours of road trip to Osorno or back to starting point. IV. ALL ITEM YOU NEED TO BRING:Every member of this adventure needs to bring the followingb items taht are key for this expedition.– Tent for 2. SUMMARY:Bike Crossing Chile-Argentina: January 4-09 2026
DESCRIPTION:Biking Challenge Over the Andes Mountains Chile & ArgentinaTrails\, Dirt Roads\, forests\, rivers and lakesAccross the Andes through Icalma border crossingCost USD $ 900 p/ person \n\n\nI. GENERAL DESCRIPTIONThis our most important experiences of the year. It is not a simple trip to plan\, but we like to keep it simple in other aspects: connected to nature and to the locals. This is a trip between an amazing part of the Andes Mountains between Chile and Argentinas. We ride through forest\, cross rivers and swim in lakes of Araucania en Chile and Alumine in Argentina. This is a personal challenge the Andes Twice. To make it possible\, we have to combine a couple of natural camp-grounds and cabins. Most lunches are on the way prepared by our support crew. Along the way we have support vehicles that help with logistics and the transportation of gear\, food and our personal belongings. Our only concern is to RIDE. \nMax of Participants: We belive that 30 people is a good MAX number to keep it simple. We start saving spots through the year with a simple downpayment of usd 100. The rest we expect to be paid few weeks before the trip.Lodging & Camp-grounds:
We will travel through some remote areas where the open field by a river protected by nice forest will be our camp-ground. Other days we will enjoy the comfort of a small hotel or cabins. So we expect people to bring apart from their bikes and gear\, a sleeping bag\, matress and tent or to arange the renting of these item from us.Meals:
Most meal are included as explained in our day-by-day itinerary. Some meal – epecially dinners- are not inlcuded because we use some of the local restaurante of the small town we ride through. So everybody orders according to his/her choices. The rest of the food is prepared by Grado Sur Support Crew. Breakfast lunches or dinners.optaron por opciones especiales: MEALS not included:– Dinner at Argetinean Restaurant in Villa Pehuenia Day 03– Lunch in Norquehue Day 4 – Lunch in Moquehue Day 5 Money during the trip: There is not much need for a big amount of money during the trip. We will be in remote areas most of the time. However\, we will ride into small town where cash will be very handy ranther than a credit card. Bring Argentinean pesos or us dollars in small bills. We also eat at restaurants few times so cash will be needed\, and usualy riders like to stop where there is opportunity for a cold beer or something equaly refreshing. Gear & Bikes Transport:
Grado Sur Expediciones tried to help as much as possible with personal logistics but just from Santiago we were are based at. Few days before the trip we travel with vehicles trailers and gear to Temuco where trip starts. We offer the option for people in Santiago to deliver their bikes and luggage to our office and we will take them to Htel in Cunco. Other people from other locations need to be in Cunco Hotel -Bello Horizonte – the day before the trip or morning of Saturday\, early enough to prepare for departure at noon. For any logistics other than ours please contact us.III. Getting to Temuco:The important part is that anybody taking part in this trip needs to be in Cunco Hotel – Bello Horizonte either Friday – which is the day before the trip – or the same Saturday the trip starts around 9am 10am the latest. There are buses from Santiago direct to Cunco. Bus stops right outside hotel. There are buses from others destinations to Temuco and we can pick people up.There are flights also to Temuco and we can pick people in Temuco Downtown.People who wants to drive there\, they can leave the car at hotel parking no-charge until we return to hotel at the end of trip.IV. While Riding: EWe want people who come on this trip to focuss on the riding leaving all the rest to us. We travel with support vehicles – usually 4×4 small truck carrying everything for the trip. There will be one of 2 guides on bikes with the group. We can also assist with mechanic issues with any of the bikes. V. What is included:– Free transportation of bikes and gear from Santiago to Cunco and back.– Lodging and Food according to Itinerary.– Local Ground Transportation in Temuco area (shuttles Temuco – Cunco)– Support – 4×4 – vehicles during the trip.– Guides and bike mechanics – Make sure though\, your bike come 100% ready for such a challenge.– farewell dinner on our last night of trip back at Bello Horizonte hotel in Cunco. \nITINERARY Day by Day \n \n \nSunday 4th January Day 01:  Arrival – Trip Starts – China Muerta Reserve Ride. The trip starts on Saturday noon\, so we expect people to arrive the night before or early in the morning on the same Saturday by 10am. (See how to get to Cunco above)There will be a late breakfast for everybody at hotel. After that\, we will start getting ready to start the trip. Check luggage\, check bicycle\, and all itemn suggested below in our packing list. People will be able to leave stuff that are not needed at hotel until we get back at the end of trip. We check our bikes\, make last minute adjustments. At noon\, we expect everybody at the front of hotel for the first group picture of the trip. After that\, we load everything in the trailer or support vehicles and start the cycling. The first stretch goes for 30 kmts (24 miles) on pavement which works great as a warm-up. We arrive in Melipeuco and make a stop for lunch .Later\, we start the ride inside Chica Muerta Reserve all the way to our camp-ground\, a natural sport by a small river where we will set up our tents and support team will make sure that dionner is ready by 8pm. Dinner prepraed by Grado Sur Staff.Night at Camp-ground. \nMonday 5th January Day 02: China Muerta Reserve and Galletue Lake – Cabins at Icalma Border CrossingGroupo wakes up in the mountain. Time to undo tents and work on packing some of the gear we used during the night. At 8:30am we expect everybody to show upo for breakfast at our dining tent. At around 9:30 people need to bring luggage and tents to cars and prepare bikes to start the ride for the day. Today first destination is Galletué Lake\, headwaters of the BioBio river. Here\, group will make a stop to enjoy the beautifukl waters of the lake and river\, go for a swim\, and enjoy a picnic lunch also prepared by Grado Sur Staff.By 3pm group starts riding towards the town of Icalma. Here we stay at cabins by the Icalma Lake\, just by the border with Argentina. Dinner at Local Restaurant.Night at cabins. \nTuesday 6th Day 03: Crossing into Argentina Icalma Pass – Climb Batea Mahuida Volcano Trail Down to Villa Pehuenia Town. Our third day is hard to predict in terms of timing\, because of the border crossing and all paper work and amount of people. Because of our experience\, this is a short day of cycling but an intense one. Once we are on the Argentenean side\, we start our second part of the cycling which happens at the Natiinal Park Batea Mahuida. The goal of the day is the 2.000 meter top of the Volcano of the same name – Batea Mahuida. While cyclist pedal to their rythm\, the support vehicle finds it way to the top of the volcano as well to wait for the group with lunch. The view here is hard to describe\, just breath-taking. It is hard to cycle all the way to te top. But with or without bicycles\, we meet at the top for lunch. After lunch\, and after many pictures of course\, we get back on our bicycles and start the down hill part\, firt through the dirt road and then down an amazing single track trail through Araucaria tree forest. An amazing 10 minutes descent. SUMMARY:Condor Mtn Bike Challenge Nov 29th 2025
DESCRIPTION:This is one of the biggest challenges we organize through the year\, the personal mtn biking challenge of 35 miles of pure Andes mountains\, 8.858 feet above sea level. A 6 -7 hour challenge on a bike – for the average cyclist. Cost usd $60 per person – minimum 10 people / Bike rental $ 70 usd. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nGENERAL DESCRIPCIONEvery year the mountain crossing Ruta del Condor becomes a personal challenge for most cyclists. It is not a race\, just a challenge. Grado Sur started organizing our challenge for people who want to ride with a group\, with certain logistics inlcuded and the transportation. We try to give all riders the best scenario possible so everybody’s only worry is to peddal and to complete the distance. Though 35 miles does not seem like much\, remember the altitude and the climb. For most people this is one of the toughest activities we organize thoughout the year. \n\n\n\nWHAT IS INCLUDED WITH THE TRIP This activity can vary in number of cyclists from 10 to 30\, being this one our largest number we take. We offer transport for people and their bicycles. We start in Santiago and drive all the way to Cajón del Maipo where riding starts. Then\, transportation moves to the other end of the trail in La Ermita\, where vehicles and trailers meet the group and drives everybody back to Santiago. Along the 35 mile-stretch of mountain trails we have guides on bicycles (and if needed a wheeler or a motorcycle)All the guides carry 2-wave VHF radios that communicate with each other and with the cars in case of emergency. In spite of all preparations we highly suggest people prepare themselves for the challenge well. (See list of WHAT TO BRING at the end of page) Besides\, we always explore the trail or collect information first hand from locals to ensure the pass is open and no surprises.WHEN & WHERE WE MEET7:00am Grado Sur Office. Pucara 4313 A Nuñoa Santiago. Riding starts around 9:30 in Cajón del Maipo According to previous trips challenge ends by 7pm. However we know that some riders finish earlier\, so we always have b2 trips back to Santiago. \n\n\n\nTHE TRAIL – LA RUTA DEL CONDOR We can define these 35 miles of mountain trail as technically gentle\, but very demanding physically. An average cyclist should cover the whole distance in about 6 hours\, plus one hour that we use to rest eat and enjoy the area. Besides\, we also use this time to oput the group back together and check on everybody because this is also the turning point of the trip. Also\, some people spend time looking for condors (always one or two in site) admire the high Andes or simply take some good pictures for posterity. Important is to mention that this is a group activity of a very isolated road\, so keeping the group as a team is key for a good experience and good results. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nGroup starts cycling from 4.758 feet of altitude and after 4 hours of hard climbing we reach the 8.858 feet\, gaining a total of 4.100 feet in just 17 miles. \n\n\n\nFrom here on\, the road changes the inclination with some very welcomed downhills\, but still two 3-mile climbs before we start the final descend. We descend about 4.731 feet in about 15 miles. We highly suggest extreme caution coming down because of the steep of the cliffs\, the rocky terrain and the exhaustion of most cyclists after a tough climb. \n\n\n\nThe EndingOnce we finish going down\, we meet at La Ermita (a well-known place and easy to find) right at the police mountain-control. Here – at a local kiosk – cyclists can chill\, enjoy some drinks and food while waiting for the other participants. As more cyclist arrive we board vehicles and drive back at the meeting point where everything started in the morning. \n\n\n\nWHAT TO BRING– Bicycles in perfect shape (especially tyres\, gears and brakes)– Minimum 3 liters of water – Lunch (a good sandwich\, cold pasta – cereal bars – fruits)– An extra first layer to change into when we stop for lunch. – Wind stopper (cold wind over the 6.000 feet)– Spare inner tube (26 27\,5 o 29)– Tool kit and portable pump

SUMMARY:Kayak Maule River to the Pacific: Oct (30) 31 & Nov 01 2025
DESCRIPTION:Kayak Trip Maule River to the Ocean– River side camp-ground – Small towns – Bird Watching– Trip starts in Talca. Optional transportation from santiago– Lodging and food according to itinerary.– Kayaks\, gear and guiding– All local ground transportation– Cost of trip usd 300 per person / Minimun 4 pax. – Kayak Trip starts in Talca/ Ends in Constitución transfer back to Talca. Other plans can be arranged. \n\n\n\nGeneral Description of Trip:Down the Maule River in a Sea Kayak in 2 days is a fun trip and very interesting. The Maule river is a surprise in beauty. It is rather isolated from main roads. You only see small trails\, rural dirt roads and small communities such as our favourite González Bastías and our friends from there. The river is safe and when water level creates spots with fast moving water\, even the inexperienced kayaker does not have problem negotiating the current. Even flipping and swiming has very low risk. Support Boat tough make the whooe trip easier and safer. We camp one night along the river. We have our favourite places\, but anywhere along the river is good for a camp ground. JUST LEAVE no garbage. The river moves at a nice pace\, so paddling without big effort allows a regular paddler to cover the distance bewteen Curtiduría and Cosntitución in two days. The last stretch of the trip could be a bit tougher considering that the rivers flatters\, no current and ocean wind might flow inland.Maule River – BeautifulThe Maule river has a surprising and unexpected beauty. Far from main roads it is naturally protected from big crowds and big urben centers. Phone coverage is minimum and we only see birds\, small farms and maybe a another local rowing boat. The rivers moves at different speeds. Some sections are flat and paddling becomes harder\, and other sections have constant current and the kayaks move fast with little effort. Also\, rain and volume of water of Maule Lake way upstream in the mountains affect the water volume in different times of the year. With more water the river is clear and it moves fast. With less water\, small current differences appear\, but basic navegating kayak skills are enough to get though. We welcome people without experience\, because in an hour somebody could get what is needed to kayak the Maule river. What is important here is positive spirit and the right guiding and appropiate. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nITINERARY– Day 1. It is longer than the main paveroad\, but less hilly\, safer with way fewer cars and the views are more espectacular. We ride our bicycles along the coast\, through small ports and fishing villages. The riding takes us to Peninsula Hualaihué\, where our support team will have lunch ready for us. If weather is good we eat under the sun. If we have rain or it is too cold and windy – always a chance in this oarts of the world – we eat indoors. After lunch we ride on. Half way to Chaitén we will set up a hydration station for all the cyclists with drinks and some food. Dinner ON YOUR OWN. Suggestion Local Pizza Parlor.Night at Los Canelos Lodge & Las Tranqueras Lodge. \n\n\n\nTuesday / Day 3: From Coastal Town of Chaitén to Villa Santa LucíaBreakfast. At around 10am we leave Chaiten on our bikes aiming for the heart of the Andes Mountains. This section of our trip is not too demanding physicaly but it is long. 75 kmts all the way to Villa Santa Lucia. The road is completely paved what makes the traveling faster and comfortable. We stop half way in Puerto Cardenas for lunch. This is a beautiful spot right where Lake Yelcho ends and Yelcho River starts. Lunch cooked by Grado Sur support team. After lunch\, and with enough time to rest a bit\, we get back on our bikes to cover the last 32 kmts to our final destination. From here on\, the terrain has more elevations with a 3\,0 kilómeter climb before dropping into Villa Santa Lucia. This is the biggest challenge of the day. Once in Santa Lucía\, the group splits in 2 hostals\, but we have all meals together.Dinner at Hotel Santa Lucia.Night at Hotels. \n\n\n\nMonday / Day 4: From Villa Santa Lucía over the Andes Crossing to the town of FutaleufúBreakfast. Today’s challenge is for another 50 miles of beautiful Patagonia\, but a bit more challenging than the day before. The road carves through the mountains with many rivers. We face a rolling road all the way to Futaleufu which makes it tiring. Though there is work on the road (pavement proyect) there are still some good stretches of gravel. At around 2pm support team will look for a good spot by the road and by the river to set up our lunch station again. So\, lunch by the Futaleufú River. After a well deserved lunch and time to rest\, we resume our riding all the way to the town of Futaleufu near the border with Argentina\, now on the Estearn side of the Andes Mountains. Night at local Cabins.Tuesday / Day 5: Bikes & River Float – Raft & kayaksBreakfast in our cabins. At 10 we get ready for a full day of action. In the morning we ride through a beutiful aprt of the Futaleufu Valley. We follow the Espolon River\, a tributary of the Futaleufu. We pass Valley Noroeste\, and then into Valle Bonito almost at the watershed of the Espolon River. It is time for lunch by the river. At around 2pm we get ready for a water activity. A mellow but fun float trip of the Espolon River with some small Class II rapids but many options for swimming and relaxing.By 5pm we return to our cabins with time to clean up and rest.Dinner together.Night at local cabins. \n\n\n\nWednesday / Day 6: Custom Paper-work into Argentina. As we cross the border\, almost instantly\, the mountains open up into wide open pampas. The road combines again dirt and sections with asphalt with gently-rolling hills.Lunch will happen by the road again.By 3pm we arrive in Trevelin and check in at out hotel for 1 night.Time to explore this small town with strong influence from Wales\, in the Province of Chubut\, Argentine Patagonia. Trevelin was founded by John Daniel Evans in 1891 as a Mill Town – which is what Trevelin means.A big suggestion is to visit the Mala Cara Museum – Bad Face Museum\, in honor to John Danial Evans’ white-faced horse not good for riding in the dark in those dangerous days.Dinner ON YOUR OWN. Suggestion Local Parrila Restaurant.Night at Hotel. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nFriday / Day 7: Return from Argentina to Futaleufú & ON to ChaitenBreakfast at Hotel. at 10am we start riding all the way back to Futaleufú through the same road. SUMMARY:Kayak Maule River to the Pacific: Oct 31 - Nov 01 2025
DESCRIPTION:October 31– November 01 2025\n\n\n\n– River side camp-ground – Small towns – Bird Watching– Trip starts in Talca. Optional transportation from Santiago– Lodging and food according to itinerary.– Support Boat – Kayaks\, gear and guiding– All local ground transportation– Cost of trip usd 300 per person / Minimun 4 pax.– Kayak Trip starts in Talca/ Ends in Constitución transfer back to Talca. Other can be arranged. Support Boat makes the whole trip easier\, safer and more comfortable during camping and meals. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nITINERARY– Day 1. Thursday 30 STARTING THE TRIP. For this trip\, people need to be in Talca Hostal by Friday evening. The idea is that everybody sleeps at the hostal and move together next morning to the river.Note: For Private Trip\, from Santiago\, we could offer private transportation to Talca and back to Santiago at the end of trip. \n\n\n\n– Day 2. Friday 31 Paddling the River – Camp-ground by the RiverEarly on the following day\, we have a good breakfast to get us through the morning. We drive to the put in where guides and gear are ready for us and for this trip. Historically we start this 2-day trip in Curtiduria\, just by the train station because from here down the river is friendly and we can garantee the arrival in the Coast in 2 days.To start the day\, we spend 1 hour with eqipment\, personal items\, loading kayaks\, safety talks and for those with little experience the basic instructions on how to handle a paddle\, how to use a ratter and few other tips to make the trip as safe as possible and the paddling the most efficient. Our first stop is the small and «cute» town and train station Gonzalez Bastias. Here we get out of kayaks and visit a local family with a nice restaurant and the BEST FOOD along the river valley. The stop takes about two hours. Enoiugh to rest\, stretch and prepare the bodies for another 3 hours kayaking to our camp-ground about 20 kmts doew river. We paddle without stopping anywhere unless it is necessary. We taking time to enjoy the views from opur kayaks.Once in our camp-ground\, guides deal with main equipment\, camping gear\, dining-room tent and dinner. Expedition member deal with their own gear\, their kayaks and safety equipment and the pitching of their tents.Dinner – Night at Camp-ground. \n\n\n\n– Day 3 Saturday 01: Paddling – Trip Ends in ConstitucionGuides get up early and start working on breakfast\, while we expect expedition members to start working on their gear\, packing tents\, and the early loading of their kayaks.Breakfast is usually at 8am so we have enough time to pack and start paddling not later than 10am.Kayaks and one guide resume the trip\, while support engine boat stays to pack the camp-ground. It takes an extra 30 minutes. After 3 hours\, groupm should be able to spot the famous «Piedra del Lobo» an outstanding rock in the middle of the river that tells everybosy that it is lunch time\, and that we are about 8 miles (11 kmts) from our final destination. After 1 hour in our pinic-style lunch\, group paddles on but now knowing that a bit of ocean wind might challenge the moving forward. However\, the river turns many time and creates protected areas and the kayaks still move fast. The arrival in Constitucion is espectacular. We paddle along the coastal walking boulevard of the city and we get the welcome of many people. We also get welcome by other boats that move around the harbor either fishing or with other kind of work.We look for our place to get people\, kayak and gear out of the water and into our vehicles and trailers. We have a place where people can change clothes and after getting a bite we hit the road either back to Talca or all the way to Santiago. \n\n\n\nNOTE: All our kayak trips are supported by a motorized kataraft that transport food\, gear\, and items to make this trip as comfortable as possible and still keep it as an adventure. \n\n\n\nWhat to Bring. Please take the time to check this Packing List so as to ensure that you bring the items that you need.Lo– Warm layers– In case of cold weather suggested Dry suit or wet suit– Wind stopper – Rain jacket– River shoes or similaer.
