Course Description

This 2-day Course is for people who are already working in the guiding world, but lack a official Certification. However, people who want to get started in guiding are also welcome.
During these 2 days we will learn about all different kinds of kayaks, what they are used for, how to maintain kayaks and the most important aspects of becoming a safe and competent profesional guide.
We will also deal with organization of kayak activities, Legal Regulations, Safety and of course leadership.
Though the time is limited, we will also put especial emphasis on improving paddling tecniches, and help with tips and suggestions on ‘how to paddle with groups safely’.

What is The Course About:

I. Withing 2 days, Octubre 18 and 19 2025, people joining this course will be immenced in the kayak guiding world.

This means that we will cover most important aspect of the kayak-world and kayak guiding as a job. Group will:

• Learn more about different types of kayaks and parts.
• Emphasize the taking care of gear and constant maintenance of kayaks.
• Develop guiding skills: patience, constant group support and in-field decision making.
• Learn to communicate with people well: Give clear directions, get feed-back and information reinforcement.
• Improve personal paddling techniques.
• Learn basic maintenace tips to keep kayaks and gear in good shape.
• Plan safe activities depending on the different goups, their goals and people’s personal paddling skills.
• Evaluate risks involved in any outdoor activity: water to paddle, group paddling levels and weather.
• Help develop community awareness of the potential of tourism in the country.
