Night at hostal.
Day 2: Cahuil Bird Sanctuary in a kayak
Just an hour away from Santa cruz and our hotel, the Cahuil Bird Sanctuary offers an unexpected scenario for a kayaking and a day with birds. Cahuil Lake is a hidden and protected nice size lake fed by the Nilahue river, ocean waters and rain. It is a natural reserve and habitat for more than 30 different kinds of birds: cormorants, egrets, gulls, swans and many more.
We bring our lunch with us and for about 3 hours we paddle along this unique world, hidden in this coastal valley of Chile.
In the afternoon we drive back to hostal. Time to clean up and get ready for dinner.
Dinner today is on your own. So we can make suggestions and reservations for everybody according to personal preferences.
Day 3: A memorable horseback ride.
Colchagua was and still is a center for traditions and folklore. And as part of our traditions is the horse and rodeos. So it is not usual to see huasos (chillean cowboys) all around the valley and people still using horses for some of the farm work.
On our last day of our visit to this valley, we become part of the local traditions and explore some of the valleys and hills of the Valley of Lolol on horses.
We also bring snacks and drink to enjoy while we make a 30 minute stop to stretch lengs and rest a bit.
Back to the main house, we say good bye to our horses and get ready to enjoy lunch prepared by our staffour lunch , of course with a glass of wine from one of our local wineries.
