III. DAY BY DAY ITINERARY.

DAY 01:  November 8th: Trip Starts in Río Bueno.
Our advebture starts in the town of Río Bueno a around 9am. We can opick youn up at your hotel or any place that is convinient for us as well. The idea is to gather by the river by 10am and getting into the water by noon. People who arrive on their own with vehicles, we can organize parking at put in during the trip. There are cabins also at put it, so we highly suggest to use them if your plan is to arrive the night before.
We – Grado Sur Expediciones – will arrive the night before and stay at cabins – put in – to get everything organized so today we get in the water as soon as possible with enough time to pack well, go through safety speech and double check everything.
Once in the water, group padles for about 3 hours to our first place for our first stop. Here we rest, hydrate, eat something and use the natural bathrooms in the openair. The river is flat, no strong current or rapinds of any kind. There are not features that expose people to dangers, but paddlers need to be focussed all the time and follow guides’ instructions if they indicate to do so.
At about 3pm, group resumes the paddling. We continue downstream at a leisurely pace. By 6:30pm we should cover the second part of our distance of the day, to our camp-ground, about 30 miles of river.
Dinner at 8pm
Night at Natural River Camp
Noche en Campamento.

DAY 02: November 9th: From Our Campground in llancacura All the way to the Pacific Ocean.
Breakfast at camp.
At 10am we get ready to get back in the water and star our second day of paddling. Today’s goal is to make it all the way to the ocean – La Barra. This Bar – in English – is the place where the different currents from the river and the ocean build up a sandy wall that sometimes blocks the access to the ocean from the river.
In the morning we paddle about 3 hours again before we stop to rest hydrate and eat our lunch. Again we can use natural bathroom, leaving almost no trace that we were ever there.
In the afternoon, we paddle on for about 3 more hours. If everything goes well and our times match our schedule, we should be arriving to the end of our triup by 7pm. That will give us more than enough time to set up our tents, explore the area while guides work on snacks and dinner.
Dinner at 8pm
Night at Camp

DAY 03: November 10th: Up-Stream to the Take Out and Pick-up Vehicles.
Breakfast at camp.
Today is a very especial day, because we need to paddle upstream for about 10 miles to the closest river access to a road. There is no connection from any road to La Barra other than the river, so vehicles cannot pick us up there. Group needs to paddle for about 2 hours to the fishfarm Los Patos, where the only road meets the river. The current is not strong so it is not a hard task to do. We will have our motorized support boat if anybody needs help.
To make our paddling easier, kayaks stay close to the side of the river where current are event less strong.
Once at the fishfarm Los Patos, our support vehicles will be waiting. Our main suggestions is to completely empty the kayaks so as not tom forget anything inside them. Then start packing your staff. Here is where the adventure ends, though we still have about 2 hours of road trip to Osorno or back to starting point.
